Washing pads using a washing machine at home is not recommended. Pads can get contaminated with clothes detergent and lint. It's advisable to use a dedicated washing machine solely for pads.

If you are using the wool pad, I know you prime by spreading with the a spreader tool, the bottle, or basically anyway to move around the compound to get a even clean prime. But, when its time to reload, do we reload with 2 pea side dots and spread it like we would with priming? Or would we reload with 2 pea size dots and start buffing like the foam pad. Thank you!

For the price, what exactly are the benefits of this new polisher over the old one? Longer runtime? No, the old one can run all day. Noise? You still have to wear hearing protection. Weight? People pay for the gym to lift, at least you don't pay to lift for the old one. Comfort? Yes, but you have to work harder to cope with the cost of the polisher. Higher maintenance? Yes, due to battery and electric bill expenses. Better performance? No.

The price is too high.

Just use a hard bristle brush that you get from the supermarket for 1.00 euro. Cleans much better than the rupes 25 euro claw

Now I am not completely new to detailing, but I used a DA only so far. Are there things that a rotary can do that a DA can't?

My favourite part about these for me is the lower noise level. Ive been saying for almost a decade that polishers needed to get quieter and lighter. The only thing i dislike is that these have a trigger which to me is an obsolete part of a tool. Plus and minus buttons or fein style push pads are a better option and improves rear handle ergonomics. Plus to me single orbit polishers are becoming outdated. Whilst not done properly yet, variable orbit dual mode and a universal polisher are what i believe are the future. Thought that way since thinking of variable orbit in 2006. Regardless, hopefully the electronics and gear set of the new hlr prove more reliable than previous generations of these tools.

Wool is more messy than the others

It took 1 battery to cut 90% of a Macan hood. It did well refining but the cutting step was tough on the battery.

I own 3 rupes polishers, they are far and away the best. Those batteries look very similar to my Makita tools batteries, are they interchangeable? That would make me more likely to purchase a few of these, as I have lots of 18 volt batteries.

I am not a pro, so i had my cheap polisher but after I bought my first RUPES lhr15 I understood why RUPES is the standard for professional detailers, so smooth, so easy to use and such a great results, just a pleasure to use.
